Hi my name is Donald Hughes.   I have been a professional programmer for about 20 years now.  I was geek before it was sheek.  I'm fluent in javascript and klingon.  I can recall all the highlights of usenet when they actually happened back in the day.  For the last 10 years I have been strictly programming web applications.  Well, all the that programming has been inside a fortune 500 company's firewalls until now.  I've decided to take some of my programming skills into the www so everyone can see.

 I will attempt to differentiate myself from other blogs by actually making web applications that run here on links off my blog site.  I have an area on the right of my blog called “My Links” where applications will be added.   The applications will be things that I use on a daily bases.  Hopefully you will find my applications useful too.

I will be looking for suggestions of tutorials to create from my readers.  I would like to stay narrowed into coding things that everyone should find useful. I know my limits. I'm not looking to code huge programs here. I do have a life outside this box you know. The requests I would like to have are things that make a web site, well, sticky. An application that says book mark me, you need this applicaiton.

My first application for my blog (DVD Covers) got its start the first of September 2008 and I finished it about two weeks latter.  Well, sort of finished it.  I hope to make a few minor improvements in time but I’m already thinking about the next application to release here.  I should mention here that this art work is custom art that has no copyright. I DO NOT put images of scanned cd's or DVD into this web site.  

I have just started this blogging thingee so go easy on me.  I really need readers comments to let me know how to evolve.  Please feel free, let me know what you like and dislike about the different posts.
